The protagonist, Ariadne, hails from the Kingdom of Eonia, which was conquered by the Garsland Empire.
To protect the lives of her people and royal family, Ariadne becomes a “subordinate soldier”—a slave soldier—of the imperial army.
Leading a group of other women who also became slaves for various reasons,
“Ariadne’s Squad” fights on the front lines.

Stationed on the Eastern Front, later described by historians as “the harshest battlefield” of the Aegis Continental War,
Ariadne’s squad is part of the Empire’s Eastern Third Battalion.
Facing repeated defeats, the battalion is gradually pushed to the brink.

Unlike regular soldiers, Ariadne and her comrades receive almost no supplies.
They scavenge what’s left on the battlefield just to survive.
As conditions worsen, even that becomes impossible, and Ariadne is forced to sell her body to regular soldiers for resources, bound by her status as a slave.

The Eastern Front continues to deteriorate,
and the Holy Kingdom deploys its superhuman “Holy Knights” as reinforcements.
The lines collapse further, and Ariadne’s squad is driven into a desperate retreat.

All the while, Ariadne clings to a dream—
that one day, she will return to her homeland…
